# AI Grader — does AI see you?

## What it does

The AI Grader gives a whole domain one 0-100 AI-visibility grade in about a minute, with no signup: it asks AI answer engines three questions derived from your own homepage, checks whether AI crawlers are allowed in, and scores how consumable that homepage is. The grade is a weighted composite - presence in AI answers counts for half, AI-bot access and content readiness a quarter each - so it shows not just that AI ignores you but which of the three layers is the reason. It matters because the AI answer now replaces the click: a domain an engine cannot reach, parse or quote is absent from that answer no matter how it ranks.

## What it checks

- **Presence in AI answers** — The share of the tested questions whose AI answer actually names your domain. It carries half the grade, because the citation is the outcome - everything else only makes it possible.
- **AI-bot access** — A robots.txt that does not block GPTBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot or Google-Extended (50 points), plus JSON-LD on the page (30) and an llms.txt index (20) - the layer you can fix today without rewriting a word.
- **Content readiness** — How consumable and quotable the homepage is - answer-first structure, extractable passages, citation-worthiness - scored from the HTML actually fetched, not from an assumption.
- **Competitors named instead of you** — The domains the engines cite while answering your own topic without you, so you see who currently owns the answer slot.
- **Auto-generated test questions** — The three queries come from your homepage og:title, H1 or title - your main topic, 'best <topic>' and '<brand> reviews' - so the check needs nothing from you but a domain.
- **Question demand** — The monthly search volume of those questions, shown when volume data exists for that locale: it turns 'you are not in the answer' into a number of missed impressions per month.

## How to use it

1. Enter your domain - no signup, no keyword list; the grade takes about a minute.
2. Read the three bars separately: the composite hides which layer is failing, and the three fail for different reasons.
3. Start with AI-bot access - unblocking crawlers, adding JSON-LD and llms.txt is same-day work - then rework the content for presence and re-run (a result is cached for 24 hours).

## FAQ

### How is the 0-100 AI grade calculated?

Presence in AI answers is 50% of it, AI-bot access 25% and content readiness 25%. If the content check cannot run, the remaining parts are re-normalized rather than filled with a default value, so a missing signal never silently pads the grade.

### Where do the three test questions come from?

From your own homepage: the tool reads the og:title, H1 or title, takes the most meaningful segment as your topic, then asks about that topic, 'best <topic>' and '<brand> reviews' - in Russian if the page is in Russian.

### How is this different from the AI visibility check?

The grader is a one-click grade for a whole domain on auto-generated questions, and it includes the technical access layer. The AI visibility check goes deeper on questions you write yourself and reports per-engine citations and share of voice. Use the grader to learn whether there is a problem, the visibility check to map it.

### What if my grade is 0, or the tool says it cannot check the site?

Zero presence next to a healthy access score usually means the engines simply do not quote you yet. If the homepage is unreachable or blocks the fetch, the tool reports that instead of grading you - an unreachable homepage is a finding of its own, and the first thing to fix.
